The Seasonal Cleaning Guide

January 30, 2020 / Michelle Tran / Cleaning Tips

Spring and autumn come and go almost as quickly as the weeks pass, or so it seems. It happens even for the best maid services! At Maid to Shine, we well know how busy life gets and that time doesn’t slow for any of it. On top of all of it, we still have to think about cleaning our homes regularly. We even have to consider those “every so often, deep seasonal cleanings”. The upkeep of our homes is important. The simplest way to deal with seasonal cleanings, is to hire the best cleaning service you know of to repeatedly maintain your home. Hiring professional house cleaners to come in and give you the best home cleaning frequently frees up your valued time. But if you’re the sort of person who enjoys rolling up their sleeves to clean yourself, this is the post for you.

No matter how regularly we (or our maid service) clean, there’s always something that gets overlooked by accident, or something that’s too hard to reach. When it comes to cleaning your homes for that deeper, seasonal clean, keep a weather eye out for these critical, key areas. Clean them, and show them some extra love. They might be behind or underneath your sinks, behind and around the toilets, your ceiling fans, your windows, your air vents, or underneath furniture—such as the bed, couches, recliners etc. When it comes to seasonal cleanings, make a list of the critical areas that need extra attention. If your seasonal cleaning process looks as though it might take more than a day to finish, split up the list over several days so that you’re not overwhelmed or burnt out. While you’re cleaning these areas, lookout for more build up in other areas. Grime and dust build up over time, little by little. Hand wiping knick-knacks, scrubbing the overhead and back of the stove, and wiping down baseboards are all good ideas. Pulling objects off of shelves cleaning all of them (and the shelf) before putting them back is helpful as well. If you really want to get into your deep clean, move the furniture that never gets moved; clean, dust, and vacuum around these.

No matter how busy life gets, your home and family will thank you for the deeper, seasonal house cleanings. Even if you hire Maid to Shine for your professional home cleanings, the results of a clean home are worth it.
