What does this nifty little motto mean for all of us at Maid to Shine? Is it just a motto, something “cool” we like to tack on just because we can? Something a little extra special to catch the eyes of potential clients, but means no more to us than it does to you? Here at Maid to Shine, we can assure you that this motto is everything to us. It absolutely is so much more than a cool catchphrase. It’s the lifeblood of the company, the resolution that we all stand by, and the standard we measure our cleanings against.
Every single one of our cleaning techs are expected to learn our motto in the first 90 days of their employment. Why is this? Because we want to give our clients more than just a fantastic, pristine cleaning. We want to leave them peace as well. The Merriam-Webster dictionary describes peace in the two following ways.
Peace: a state of tranquility or quiet.
and
Peace: freedom from disquieting or oppressive thoughts or emotions.
It is precisely this sort of peace we aim to leave when we come into your homes to clean. The spectrum of peace is varied, and what that peace looks like shifts from client to client. For some clients, leaving peace is simply the tech who comes in and quietly cleans routinely, week after week, month after month; the client can go about his or her work, knowing that when they come home that night, they don’t have to think twice about the dusting, scrubbing, mopping, or vacuuming. They can focus their attention on more important things. For other, elderly clients, we leave peace simply by being able to reach or bend over to clean those hard to clean nooks that they, themselves cannot reach anymore. There are even the clients who simply crave companionship, a friendly smile, and a listening ear. While these clients still receive the best cleaning we can give them, they make it clear to our techs that a very important aspect of our services (for them) is the friendship.
These are only a few of the ways we aim to leave peace. There are infinite variations and limitless possibilities. Our cleanings are more than a job. They’re a way for us to serve you, and give you the gift of peace in an ever hectic, busy life.
